Well, we are nearly half way through January and it has been a busy start to the year for the committee with a huge clean out of the old clubrooms taking place over the past week. We must also thank the footballers who helped with the heavy lifting and saved a few bad backs in the process!
Football Update
The boys completed a short block of training before Christmas, and are completing individual programs before the entire group gets back together on Monday 1 February. New or returning players are always welcome – get in touch with us if you have any questions (there is a link on our website you can use if you have any queries).
The Ballarat FNL will start work on the fixture next week when their office re-opens so we are still none the wiser about the schedule for this year. The proposed start date for Round 1 is Saturday 17 April. Practice match details are currently being worked through with a couple of games likely to be played at home, giving us a chance to test everything out after a long break and to make sure our new facilities are all good to go for the season ahead!
The girls will also start training in February ahead of the BFLW season. Keep an eye on our website and facebook page for more info in the next week or two about training dates and times.
Netball Trials
Trials for the 2021 season started on Tuesday and will continue next Tuesday 19thJanuary at 6pm at MacPherson Park.
MacPherson Park Redevelopment
The front oval (old Centrals ground) is fenced off and has started to be dug up in the past week as work begins over that side of the complex. The works will see the oval re-aligned and extended to something like what we currently have and should be ready in time for the 2022 season.
The soccer club will take over the use of our old rooms in the next few weeks.
Bloods Face Masks
We're currently working through our apparel needs for 2021 but we discovered a small quantity of Bloods Face Masks still left during our end of year clean up. Any Bloods fans who are interested in purchasing one please jump online to order via the link below. $22 each, payment via credit card, and we will get them to you ASAP either a delivery if around Melton or via post.
Sponsors
Nabby is always happy to hear from potential partners, so if you’d like to join the Bloods as a sponsor please give him a call or email the club. Nabby might even sell you a car while you're at it!
A full list of Melton FNC sponsors can be found on our website - we encourage our members to use these partners where possible and support businesses who support our club.
Bunnings BBQ
The club has a Bunnings BBQ allocated to us on Sunday 31 January at the Melton store. We've got your morning tea, lunch or afternoon snack sorted on that day.
Social Media
If you haven't 'liked' us on Facebook yet, please do so. Plenty of old photos, footy records and video have been located during the clean up at Maccy Park and we'll get some of this online in coming weeks.
People's Choice Community Raffle
The Melton Bloods have signed up for the People's Choice Community lottery. $2 a ticket with all money purchased via the link below being returned to the club. There's no minimum number of tickets you need to buy, or any other fees attached so jump on and buy 1 ticket if you can! If every Bloods member buys just 1 ticket we'll do alright out of it. There's plenty of prizes up for grabs, so jump on the page and have a look.

Horse Tipping Competition
The tipping competition is taking a break just at the moment but we plan to be back soon. Stay tuned.
Choice Hotels Program
The Bloods have joined the Choice Sports Program who will give a commission to the Club for all accommodation booked by our members and supporters for stays at Choice Hotels. In addition, the room rates given to our members, supporters and friends will also be discounted.
For your bookings to qualify they need to be made using the link: www.choicehotels.com.au/login/00544060
From there, search for accommodation at your chosen location and dates as you would normally, then make sure you select the Preferred Customer Savings Rate option.
This program gives our Club an opportunity to raise some additional revenue so if you are heading away, please have a look at their website first to see if there is one of their branded hotels in your chosen destination throughout Australia. Contact Jamo for more information or if you need any assistance.
Sporting Globe Team Sponsorship Program
The Bloods have also signed up to the Sporting Globe Team Sponsorship Program. If you are heading to a Sporting Globe venue around Australia while on holidays, you can help the Bloods raise some funds. Simply download their app (links below), once you’ve done that register yourself as a member and select Watergardens as your ‘home location’ and then find “Melton Bloods FNC” under the Team Sponsorship list. Then it’s as simple as scanning your barcode when making a purchase at any of the locations across Australia.
If you’re already a member of TSG but need to change your club head into My Details on the app and change your location and team as above.
